Talking Drums Screen Saver
The screen saver begins with a small short movie of the lead musician, and then has 13 frames of the entire troupe, with a background of light percussion.
Artist's Notes: I wish this screen saver could do these wonderful people justice, but it only conveys a small sense of their art. These people are moving, and still photos don't capture that well. The drummers are native Nigerians and the ladies are native African-Americans, all of whom have a gift for dancing and music they are kind enough to share. I saw them take tourists and make them into dancers in moments. Many thanks to The Talking Drums, and ZooAtlanta, which is where the pictures were taken.
The screen saver has 13 images, high resolution, and the file size is 3.1 meg. (These are high resolution images, and the little movie is 1.4 meg by itself.) Transitions are a fancy effect in which the pictures zoom in over a background of jungle foliage. If you use 800 by 600 screen resolution the images will be full screen, if yours is set for 1024 by 768, you'll have a small border of jungle foliage which I rather like. One-click uninstall. Your computer will need a plug-in to view the mpeg file, which you probably already have. Windows Media Player is a great choice, and free from Microsoft if you don't have it.
This one is a gift for a friend who can never find something for Black History Month. Please enjoy it with her. This would be an especially nice one for small children, who are my favorite people.
