Sunset On The Lake
"Gentle"
Sunset slowly falls over Lake Michigan while sailboats drift between islands.
Artist's Notes: There are forty-seven frames of a sunset over Lake Michigan accompanied by an entire album of the original music of Bruce Deboer. File size is 3.4 meg, and the screen saver is designed for 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768 resolution, although it will display fine at higher resolutions, you'll just have a little more of the marble background around the sunset.. Sound is mutable, runs under any Windows-based operating system, and is easily uninstallable (from the Add/Remove Programs list).
This one has a special story. My mother, who is 82, suddenly announced that I should do a screen saver of a sunset. As it works between mothers and daughters, I could see what she had in mind, and it was a really good idea. The sunset was shot over Green Bay on the Fourth of July 2002, and much of Canada was on fire that week, so the wonderful colors of the sunset are actually caused by the smoke in the atmosphere from forest fires north of there. There is one golden instant as the sun touches the water when you will see a sailboat pass in front of it. As the frames transition, you can see the water ripple in the lake.
